Fix the Folio

Presented by Troubadour Stageworks

Running time: 1 hour. Suitable for all ages.

charity. comedy. family. live music. opera. play. poetry. storytelling.

It is 8 November, 1623, and Isaac Jaggard is running late, hurrying through the Barbican carrying a new manuscript, complete and ready to be bound… but he trips, and all the pages of Shakespeare’s First Folio scatter to the winds. Can he, with a few helping hands, reorder 36 plays in 45 minutes? Will The First Folio make it to print?

Troubadour Stageworks is proud to present a Shakespearean musical revue celebrating the wit and genius of English literature’s most influential playwright.

Fun, fast and accessible to all, join us in this whirlwind through all of Shakespeare’s plays. Containing at least one line from every play in the First Folio, this show is enjoyable no matter your prior Shakespeare knowledge. Featuring six new song settings, it is an easter egg hunt for the academic aficionado and a great first introduction for younger family members.

Troubadour Stageworks are a theatrical charity that promotes access to the arts everywhere. From their base in South West England they tour nationwide, bringing shows and programmes to heritage sites and other locations.

Fix the Folio was initially commissioned by The Fleet Street Quarter of the City of London to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the publication of the First Folio in 2023.

“Troubadour Stageworks, a company full of exceptional emerging talent.”

Lucy French CBE, Chief Executive of The Fleet Street Quarter
