A group of travellers journey through a magical forest and emerge mysteriously stripped of speech. Unable to speak, they must reveal their stories through tarot cards alone, with each image unlocking secrets and surprises.

Structured in three parts, The Interpreter blends storytelling, live music and visual art. 

Featuring artwork by Noriko Okaku, costumes by Yoko Brown, composition by Kier Vine and music by Perhaps Contraption. There are also solo performances by Catherine Ring (marimba), Charlotte Jolly (clarinets), and Jin Theriault (flutes).

The fire which started on RSPB land at the Minsmere Reserve on the evening of Wednesday 29th July rapidly spread to engulf 114 hectares of carefully managed wildlife habitat, across land owned and managed by the National Trust (Dunwich Heath - 87.3ha) and RSPB (Minsmere Nature Reserve - 26.8ha)

It was important for a wide range of species, such as Dartford Warblers, Woodlarks, Nightjars and Stone Curlew, Adders and Silver-studded Blue butterflies.

Thorington Theatre owner Lindy O’Hare and author of The Boy, the Horse, the Fox and the Mole Charlie Mackesy have come together to raise funds for the restoration efforts of Minsmere and Dunwich Heath.

The performance will be made up of drawing and storytelling by Charlie Mackesy and information about the disaster with questions hosted by Adam Rowlands. He has worked on the Suffolk Coast for over 20 years and well-acquainted with the history and wildlife of the area.

The money raised will be spent locally to address the damage caused by this wildfire.

After starting his career in Galicia, he moved to London in 2014, where he played in various bands before focusing on his solo career.

Influenced by figures such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel, he has released three solo albums, including A Sunset Wine (2019), Iago Banet (2022) and TRES (2023). He has carried out several highly successful tours throughout the UK; which have included multiple sell-out shows and a fantastic reception from audiences.

The Friendly Invasion Show tells the spectacular true story, using words and songs of the time, of the United States Army Airforce in East Anglia during the Second World War.

For just a few short years in the 1940's, Suffolk resembled a Hollywood film set - Glenn Miller played just down the road, Joe Louis visited the area and Joseph P. Kennedy Jnr. died in an exploding plane in the Suffolk skies over Blythburgh.

Airfields sprung up all across the countryside, and sleepy villages were turned into 'Little Americas', dramatically altering the physical and cultural landscapes forever - in fact Thorington Theatre itself sits in a crater left by a falling WWII bomb!

One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, The Comedy of Errors tells the story of twin sons and their twin servants, separated in a shipwreck.

The play explores themes of identity, mistaken identity, and family as we find out what happens when the twins find themselves in the same town on the same day.

Confusion and mishap ensue as no one can tell the twins apart, husbands appear to be in love with the wrong person, debts refused to be paid and servants lock masters out of their own homes.

The Festival Players bring live original music, comedic chaos, fast-paced story telling, traditional costume and more to Shakespeare’s most farcical play, in their 2026, and 41st, open-air summer theatre tour.
