Maeterlinck and Yeats among the flowers: a very special morning of poetry and prose in the woodlands at Thorington, presented by Rory Kinnear.
“The intelligence of the flower is the intelligence of the world.” So wrote Maurice Maeterlinck in his 1907 essay on the natural and instinctive wisdom of flowers. In Toward the Light, celebrated actor Rory Kinnear, director of this year’s production of Pelléas et Mélisande, reads from Maeterlinck’s essay, interspersed with some of WB Yeats’ most lyrical responses to the natural world.
