Oscar-winning author Charlie Mackesy is making his second visit to Thorington Theatre this summer. The celebrated creator of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse will be regaling audience members with stories of his career and delighting fans with new drawings live on stage.

Charlie’s beloved book, which was published in October 2019, holds the record for the most consecutive weeks in the Sunday Times Non-Fiction Chart across all formats as well as being the longest running Sunday Times Non-Fiction Number One of all time.

A number one New York Times best-seller, it has remained on the number one New York Times Bestseller and on the New York Times Advice, Misc. Best Seller list – one of only eight books to do so since 2013.

Its film adaptation, which starred Idris Elba and Tom Hollander, won best animated short film at the 2023 Academy Awards.

All proceeds from this event will go to Bramfield Village Green, a charitable initiative close to Charlie’s heart as a Suffolk local.
